Michelob ULTRA Light Cider Review
Michelob Ultra recently introduced a new product to their line-up of calorie conscious adult beverages – ULTRA Light Cider made with crisp apples. ULTRA Light Cider has 120 calories per serving. That’s one-third fewer calories than an average of the leading regular hard ciders. Cider is naturally gluten-free, which doesn’t matter at all to me, gluten and I are good buddies. That being said, I know lots of my readers are either gluten intolerant or have decided that a gluten-free diet is for them, so this would be a good beverage choice .
You can enjoy this cider either straight from the fridge or over ice if you prefer. ULTRA Light Cider is naturally sweetened with stevia. While it isn’t as sweet as most hard ciders, I typically am not a fan of sweet beverages or the taste of stevia. When making a beverage selection, I prefer dry champagne, gin, really fresh margaritas, or craft beer. While ULTRA Light Cider may not have been my personal favorite, I do think that a lot of you will like it. To brighten the flavor, I dressed up my ULTRA Light Cider with some sliced granny smith apples and limes. It added some nice complexity and tartness to the mix, and I enjoyed it this way. If you’re a fan of cider and looking to cut calories, ULTRA Light Cider is a great choice.
Michelob ULTRA Light Cider would be fun for a picnic, enjoying poolside, floating the river or kicking back with family and friends. I think it will pair well with grilled veggies, fish or chicken. Which favorite summer meal or activity do you think would go best with Michelob ULTRA Cider?

Very interesting drink, it looks nice in the mason jar with the limes. I love how honest you were in your review but still kept it classy.
Thanks Neven!
Hmmm good review, and I might have to give this a try! I am not a fan of super sweet drinks but hey, I’m sure a six pack trial would be a good test to see if I like it. Thanks for the review!
Danica – I know you love to tap those Rockies girl, you might like this.
I tried this, and I liked it. I only wish it was a smidge lower on calories, but I loved that it wasn’t too sweet nor too bland. Great post!
I am coming over from the SA bloggers group.
Welcome Monica! Glad you liked it. I brought some in to work and several of my coworkers liked it as well.
You know, I saw another blogger review this and I rolled my eyes, thinking she may have been overexaggerating her love for it. However, she has been drinking it repeatedly since, so she must like it.
I tend to hate light beers and any kind of malt beverage and I was afraid this would be a horrible combo of the two. I like how you did it with fruit in the mason jar, though. I may actually give it a shot.
For the record, I love Woodchuck ciders.
Rhonda, I really think the only reason I didn’t like it is that I haven’t embraced stevia. I don’t like stevia in my coffee or on anything really – but I know most people like it. I wish I could get on board with stevia as it’s the healthiest low cal alternative to sugar.
I love your presentation of it! Can you make all my drinks pretty?
Thanks Misha – I’m quite flattered considering you’re such a fab photographer.
