Water Your Body Part 3 – Who Inspires You?

This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Crystal Light.

So this week as I continue to Water My Body, I’ve been asked to share with my readers who or what inspires me to live a healthy lifestyle.

I’ve been thinking about it all week, and I think that the answer to that question is me.  I’m who inspires myself to live a healthy lifestyle.  Yes I’m motivated by fitness guru’s like Jillian Michaels or super fit celebrities like Kelly Ripa… but ultimately these people do not serve as any real type of inspiration.

When I make good decisions like eat in small amounts from a variety of foods, be sure to stay hydrated, and get plenty of physical activity each day – I’m not doing it for Jillian Michaels, or my family and friends, or the future Mr. Waspy Redhead (should he exist) – I’m doing it for me.  And when I make these good choices, I’m the one I’m proud of – not some nutrition advisor or health cszar.  I’ll freely admit that sometimes I’m not the best about making good decisions, and I recognize that when I fall off the wagon that I have no one to blame but myself and also that I’m the only source of inspiration that can help get me back on track.

This is not to say that I don’t have a wonderful support network in place to help me stay motivated.  I have a walking buddy who has similar goals, I have loving family and friends who want me to be my happiest healthiest self, and I have a great community of bloggers who also are working on living a healthy lifestyle.  Ultimately I feel like though we’re all in this together, its up to me to figure this out a healthy lifestyle for myself.

And while I’m working on that healthy lifestyle, there’s nothing like a little Crystal Light Lemonade with fresh blueberries to quench my thirst.

How about you dear readers?  Do you feel like me that you are your own best inspiration?  Or do you have a role model or mentor that you look to for guidance with a healthy lifestyle?  I would love to hear about it – so tell me more about your inspiration in a comment on this post.  And because Crystal Light, BlogHer and I love ya so much – you will be entered to win a $100 Visa gift card when you do!  Official rules.

Hmmmm, I think I inspire myself too. As a mother of 5 and small biz owner, I am pulled in all directions, but in the end, I am selfish enough to take time for me and take care of me. The kids and husband will all admit that when I take care of me and am happy, they all benefit :)

  2. I definitely motivate myself. I’ve lost 40 lbs over the last four years. Whenever I am tempted or feel like I’m getting off track, I think about how hard I’ve worked and the success I’ve achieved. I love seeing the number on the scale go down!

I try to motivate myself but it helps if my husband is also on-board for moral support.

  4. Jessie C. says:

Walking by the lake and watching everyone exercise motivates me.

  5. Surprisingly, my husband motivates me. Usually, I think people gain weight when they get married, but we’ve both lost during the past two years, because he is so dedicated to working out. But….I will say that I’m the one who pours the post-workout-hydration. ;)

  6. I am inspired by the creativity of others especially children and teenagers! They just create from within not caring for barriers or borders! I love that!

Yes, I feel that I am my own best inspiration .Especially when I have overindulged and try to pull on my favorite pair of jeans. No other motivation even comes close!

  8. Being able to fit into my clothes inspires me because I sure can’t afford to buy news ones these days.

  9. Anne says:

I have more negative role models! I look at some of my relatives and realize I need to be healthy so I don’t have the problems they have.

  10. Dee says:

I am inspired by real people who work hard at what they do and achieve successes not necessarily monetary ones but successes in relationships and humanitarian efforts :)

  11. Jill H says:

I try to motivate myself, but watching my son exercise and be in good shape makes me want to do that also so he motivates and inspires me.

  12. Dee says:

also in terms of health, my friend inspires me because she’s been through a lot yet is so kindhearted and a great humanitarian – and through all that she still finds time to cook herself organic meals and workout each morning :) dreamzz12{at}aol{dot]com

Where I live inspires me to stay healthy. I live in a elderly and disabled community. Talking to all my neighbors, I hear out sick or disabled they are and I don’t want to be like that.

    My mom inspires me.

  15. Lisa says:

I think I inspire myself. I want to be healthy and stay healthy as I get older, so that motivates me to try to eat healthier.

I try to motivate myself by keeping a training plan in place!!!

My son inspires me. I have to be around to see him grow up.

i try to motivate myself but watching my kids is really the best motivation for me. i know they learn more by what i DO then by what i say so it’s important for me to stay healthy and show them what that means.

love the idea of adding blueberries to the lemonade. gonna have to try that. =)
