So if you’ll recall, two weeks ago my best friend had a baby. Happy two week birthday Clara!
Get out of town, yall are too cute.
So I figured it was about time to post some of the highlights from her baby shower. You see I’m not as terrible of a blogger as it seems, because sweet little Clara did come earlier than we expected – I think Clara had her own agenda.
My lovely co-hostess De. We picked yellow and pink color palate, and then by total coincidence dressed to match the decor. Best friends think on the same brain wave I guess.
Light munchies in my living room. I love a cheese tray. Seriously, could there just always be a cheese tray on my coffee table? Is that socially acceptable? Would I be the creepy cheese lady?
A super delicious brunch spread: Quiche Lorraine and Quiche Florentine, Waldorf Salad, Procuitto Wrapped Asparagus Spears, Watermelon Gazpacho, Cranberry Orange Mini Muffins and of course… Cake. Whoa cake!
De and her Mom actually made this, can you believe it? It’s amazing. I thought I was pretty accomplished in the gorgeous cake baking arena, but they have totally raised the bar now. I haven’t played around with fondant or gum paste, but this stunner makes me want to take a cake decorating class. When I would find time to do that I have no idea, but it’s going on the life list.
We kept the decor simple, pink and cream gerbera daisys and a banner of homemade custom couture onesies with cute phrases…
never too young for a “that’s what she said” joke
and my favorite…

Me with Steph, the lovely Mom-to-be
Her dress had this crazy flattering pattern that kind of creates an optical illusion that maybe she isn’t pregnant. Of course my friends manage to be tiny skinny while they are pregnant, stealing the opportunity for me to look all svelt when standing next to them. Way to go.
It was so great to get together with some of my dearest friends from high school. We live all over the place these days, and we only get to spend time together if someone is getting married or having a baby. Unfortunately no one is engaged or expecting right now, so it might be a while before I get to see these beauties again. Love yall! Miss the gals who couldn’t make it! And also I desperately need to hang something over my fireplace. Yikes.
Those onesies are sooooo cute!! Where did you get them?? I have to get some for one of my friends.
Looking at your table is making me hungry. Such beautiful and delicious food!
