If you’ll recall from my post about my 2010 goals, I challenged myself to entertain at least once per month. Well January is done and so far, so good!
A few weekends ago, Steve and I got together with our good friends Steph & Brad for dinner and a viewing party. We love getting together with these two and their precious little one, Clara. I’ve written in the past about our shennanigans, you might remember the post where I pretended to be the barefoot contessa. What you won’t recall is the story about the time we tried to kill them with undercooked chicken. Whoops. Never fear, since we take turns cooking for each other, it wasn’t too long before they served us under cooked chicken as revenge. Kidding, mostly. Anyways… enough about under cooked chicken.
Televised sporting events are the perfect opportunity for laid back in-home entertaining. What sporting event were we watching? Well it wasn’t the NFL playoffs… It was the US Figure Skating Nationals. Yep. We’re those people. We throw figure skating watching dinner parties. What of it?

While the lovely Sasha Cohen was unsuccessful in mounting a comeback to earn a bid to they Olympics, Steve and I were successful in redeeming ourselves for the undercooked chicken incident. Check out our tasty spread:

Ooh, this looks delicious! And I adored your self-outing as to your figure skating obsession over on FC. I’m going to need some inside interp from you during the Olympics. I just realized I have a business trip scheduled during some of the skating and I am PISSED! Even more of a need for figure skating live-blogging/tweeting, then.
What did you use to spice your Cajun pork loin? I’ll bet you couldn’t find this beautiful food if you went to the actual Olympics.
I’d love the bean salad recipe, that looks great! did you say you plan to post it?
