I rarely buy things from the store downstairs from my office. Aside from the occasional vintage t-shirt for Steve, I’m not interested in the merchandise. Don’t get me wrong, Goodwill is a great place to find bargains. Unfortunately each store is supported for the most part by “same-store” donations, and since this location is downtown near some sketch areas of San Antonio, the merch is not as good as other stores in higher socio-economic areas. Goodwill does have a relationship with Target, and they provide us with their clearance items and returns that are in good condition but perhaps have damaged packaging. From time to time they have some cute stuff. Their holiday decor was a big hit this year with some of my coworkers, but it didn’t match my color palate so I didn’t pick any up. Today I hit the jackpot in the Target “new goods” section!
Silver picture frame that holds 2 5×7 prints – $3.99
(2) Red beaded place mats – $3.99
(4) Hammered pewter canape spreaders – $3.99
Also I get a Team Member discount, which is almost silly. I spent less than $10 on these items! That makes my Tuesday!
