Ok… it’s more like presents from myself since I’m the one who pulled the trigger on this online shopping indulgence, but none the less, the arrival of my J Crew goodies today was an exciting event.

You may recognize this dress from my previous post on my shallow, non wellness-based motivation for losing weight. Unfortunately, by the time the J Crew final sale rolled around this dress wasn’t available in lavender anymore, but I think that pink is just as cute.
I have a weakness for swiss dot fabrics. Also for cap sleeves. Win. Win.
I’m not a big J Crew fanatic (love their style, but the price x quality equation just isn’t right if you ask me), so I’m not too familiar with their sizing. Because I am continuing to lose weight and drop sizes (25 lbs and 2 sizes so far, happy dance!), I gambled and ordered the dress two sizes too small. When I tried it on this afternoon, it almost zipped! I’m probably only 10 pounds or so away from fitting into it comfortably.
Let me state for the record that I don’t usually think that it is at all a good idea to buy clothes you know to be too small for you, but in this instance it is a nice little motivation technique at my half way (half weigh! hah, love puns) point.

I have the non-swiss dot version of this dress in lavender and love it. It’s one of those pieces that’s so wearable for so many occasions, you get your money’s worth in no tmie. Love that!
So jealous! I adore the lavender one.
Mojito Maven owns it too! We have to check in with each other to make sure the other one’s not wearing it out to a group dinner.
