Once upon a time, I had a food blog. I baked, I sauteed, I took photos -then I told you fine folks about it. Everything was going along smoothly… Then, RANGE-GATE!
Seriously though, I’ve been without a range since early October – and the poor lil blog has taken a serious hit. I tried to fool you with misdirection, “Look at all the things I might make if I could cook something.” But you’re too smart. You saw right through it. The good news is, the new range is here! And she is a beaut!

We originally had ordered an electrolux induction oven & cooktop. Unfortunately after waiting 3 weeks for it to be special ordered, it was delivered with a crack in the top. Back to the drawing board. We opted instead to order a Frigidare Induction/convection range. Turns out that Frigidare is owned by Electrolux – so I suspect this was a Loreal/Lancome kind of situation where we got a very similar quality product packaged under a different brand for less.
So far I’m in love. The new range was a champ this Thanksgiving, and it was sooo nice to be back in the kitchen. This week I’ll share some highlights and recipes from our Thanksgiving meal!
It’s good to be back!
The new range is here, everybody cheer! It looks beautiful.
That is the EXACT range we had in the rent house.. it was fabulous… until I dropped a Pyrex on the top and cracked it bigtime
Here’s to safe cooking endeavors for you and the new guy !
Kate – I’m loving it, but I’m nervous to scratch or crack the surface. I’ll for sure try not to drop any pyrex on it.
Thanks for the tip. Also I’m tickled that you assigned my range a male gender, I felt (much like a boat or a plane?) that “she” is a great addition to the kitchen.
Welcome back!
Congrats! My parents have induction and looove it. It boils water in a snap. Can’t wait to see what delectable goodness you whip up with your new toys!
